In 2011, Mobile was just starting to be adopted by enterprise clients. This meant many agencies (design, integration, development, strategy) tried to specialize in mobile to meet the need for enterprise; but it forced enterprise clients needing to manage 3-5+ agencies in order to build a mobile solution. A typical journey would be that clients start witha company like IDEO who would perform research to define user needs. IDEO would build a comprehensive deliverable and pass it off to a different design agency that would add design. From there, it would be passed to a company to build the app which would be separate from the company who supports it! With so many agencies, there was no single company that would take accountability for product delivery. Thus, Mobiquity was originally formed to deliver on mobile from user experience design (a term that was new in 2011) to technical delivery and support.
Mobiquity quickly developed deep expertise in mobile strategy, user-experience design, enterprise-system integration and mobile-application development, analytics, security and social media - becoming a market leader in developing enterprise-class mobile solutions. This was done by bringing a world-class team of diverse backgrounds in mobile development and user-centric design led by an advisory board with an excellent proven track record. The advisory board from Mobiquity would share many of the same industry titans with Rocket Wagon. By 2014, Mobiquity had grown to 350+ people across 20+ offices nationally and internationally (Just opening offices in Amsterdam and India).
On June 14, 2019 Mid-size IT firm Hexaware Technologies announced the acquisition of Mobiquity Inc for approximately $182 million in an effort to directly compete with large digital agencies and consulting firms. Hexaware acknowledged that a leading reason for thre acquisition (besides the broadening of theri development and account footprint) was Mobiquity’s established benchmark in defining omnichannel digital experiences and next-gen user interfaces, such as smart speakers and digital assistants.
Mobiquity continues to grow and currently is over 800 team members, with 9 primary delivery centers across 40+ nationalities. They are currently serving over 100M users through their client engagements. While Mobiquity started as a mobile-first high growth services company, now Mobiquity provides end-to-end omnichannel digital consulting services to leading B2B and B2C brands.
